Doug-bot

Doug-bot is an educational trading analysis bot built to make TA easier to understand for everyone, not just active traders. It breaks down market structure, momentum, risk, and key levels in a clear, practical way so users can make more informed decisions without getting lost in jargon. Rather than chasing every move, Doug-bot focuses on helping people read the market more patiently, think more critically, and avoid overtrading. Access is written into the art: a hippo wearing a top hat, monocle, or money tongue unlocks the Virtual Trading role: the channels, the learning material, the lot. Only 1,972 of 8,888 hippos qualify.

Doug

The hippo himself. While the others work, Doug is reading the café menu or booking a pickleball court. Coffee first, pickleball second, markets eventually. He is the heart of the project and the reason it celebrates café culture.

Dougbot

The analyst. Dougbot files a report (when he feels like it) covering market structure, momentum, risk, and key levels, explained without the jargon.

Doug Newsome

The anchor. Doug Newsome fronts HNN, the Hippo News Network, wrapping the week's headlines with the gravitas of a hippo in a tie.

And about the noses: the original artwork was heads only, so the noses have things in them. 766 hippos carry clocks, 1,003 carry eggs, plenty carry coffee. The collection was later redrawn with full bodies and roughly double the traits, keeping the original heads at the heart of every hippo.

Team

Far Artist and Community Manager

Far is an artist and community manager from Melbourne, Australia. Stemming from a 4 year career managing and owning Minecraft servers with upwards of 100,000 active players, he developed a love for NFTs in November 2021 and created Hefty Hippos, drawing all 8,888 original heads. The project began as a wildlife fundraiser, and proceeds from its earliest mints were donated to hippo protection.

Garetjakz Chief Doer of Stuff

Garetjakz, Chief Doer of Stuff. Garet works in Web Development, Marketing, Cloud Config, UX / Design and API development, providing him with a wealth of experience to lead into NFTs in July 2021 until he met Far in February of ‘22 and began work on developing the Hefty Hippos. He later redrew the entire collection, keeping Far's original heads and roughly doubling the traits: full bodies, clothing, hand items, head items, eyes, skins and more. It took months. He maintains he is not an artist.
